Meet Joe MUEGO for School Board
Current Chair of the School Board Trustees
Joe Muego is a decades long advocate for public education and has held roles including PAC chair for elementary and secondary schools, Delta DPAC chair representing parents from all 31 of Delta’s schools and was elected as a School Trustee in 2022. Since then, he has twice been elected Chair of the Delta Board of Education by his peers representing all trustees in various capacities including regionally and provincially.
Outside of the school sector, Joe is a registered architect of British Columbia and has had his own corporate practice since 2002. His work focuses on residential and commercial architecture. Joe has been the architect of record for over a thousand projects in BC with construction values approaching a billion dollars. This broad experience leverages his abilities to comprehend complex systems and issues and to bring people together within these systems.
Joe became involved in schools nearly twenty years ago when his young sons were in elementary school at Beach Grove in Tsawwassen. The close-knit community drew him into public service. While his boys are now young men, they are products of Delta Schools after graduating with purpose and options and Joe is pleased to help other families and their children thrive.
